What size steel pipe is used for bollards?
Most site plans call for 4 in to 8 in steel pipe, with 6 in schedule 40 or schedule 80 among the most common. Your engineer's drawing decides it. Send us the drawing or the callout and we will quote the pipe.
Do bollards on a federally funded project have to be Buy America compliant?
If the project receives federal infrastructure funding, the Build America, Buy America Act generally applies to iron and steel in it, bollards included. Reddy Pipe & Supply is BABA certified. Tell us the project is federally funded when you ask for a quote.
Should steel pipe bollards be filled with concrete?
Most are. A concrete core adds mass and resists denting on impact. Your site plan or engineer sets the fill and the embedment depth.
